He couldn't believe he was about to follow a ghost bird to God-knows-where in Stark Tower—and that's assuming the bird didn't get him caught and dragged out by security, walk through a wall and lose him, or fly right out the front doors and into Bucky's death by oncoming traffic.
For Bucky's plan to keep the government from discovering he'd become a Sentinel—and ruining his life accordingly—to work, he could not afford to get caught trespassing in Stark Tower.
